2019 Here We Come!
By Eileen Habelow, Ph.D.
I have never been a huge fan of New Year’s Resolutions. (Read last year’s blog for some evidence.) And, as usual, by this time of year, I am done with the holidays and ready to get back to a routine, back to normal. This year is no different.
I am REALLY excited about 2019 already. It has an awful lot to do with our 2018 at Leadership-Link. It has been a great year working with amazing clients – some old, some new. I am so grateful for the partnerships and relationships we have been able to cultivate this year.
As I did last year, I have picked my #oneword for the new year. Last year’s word was “ENOUGH”. I could bore you with many details of how focusing on the word “enough” has served me well in 2018, but will share the main one: The Enneagram. I had never heard of the Enneagram before, but using my ‘type’ as a tool for self awareness and growth has had an impact on me in the past 6-months. I engaged a Coach for myself and it has been a very valuable experience…he forces me to slow down, reflect, and be more intentional in my experiences.
My #oneword for 2019 will be “CLEAR”. It is a continuation of my growth from 2018. Get CLEAR means I want to start the year by changing or removing whatever is not serving me well for where I am headed. Be CLEAR means I will pause and reflect, rather than taking my typical spontaneous actions and decisions. Stay CLEAR means I will commit to continuing the growth in the area of “ENOUGH”. Stay tuned for an update.
This is the first holiday in a long time that I did NOT work at all for 6-days! I enjoyed every minute of my time with my husband and three children. It was a recharge that will take me flying into 2019.
So, as we head into 2019, what will your #oneword be? I look forward to hearing about it! Happy New Year!
